LEADING IMPACTORS
Meet The Executive Team

Founder & Executive Director
Tina L. Collins, MBA
Tina’s love for music began on her grandfather’s lap, listening to jazz greats spin on 78 records. Those early moments sparked a lifelong passion that grew to encompass all forms of live performance.

After attending Hamilton and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical in London, England, Tina was struck by one noticeable absence—youth from diverse backgrounds in the audience. The realization fueled a deep desire to bridge that gap and provide access to the arts for at-risk and underprivileged youth. She envisioned exposing them to powerful stories of resilience—stories of individuals from their own communities who overcame adversity to achieve greatness. Through this exposure, Tina hopes to inspire young people to bring the world’s beauty and creativity back into their own neighborhoods, transforming perceptions, beliefs, and dreams.

Several months later, this vision came to life as The Show Me The Way Foundation, an idea nurtured with encouragement from her mentor, Renee Merab. Tina knew she was being called to make a meaningful impact on lives too often left unseen in the spaces she had been fortunate to experience.

Tina earned her Associate Degree in Music Marketing and Management, fulfilling her dream of working in the music industry. Her career allowed her to collaborate with and meet world-renowned artists—an experience that deepened her appreciation for the transformative power of the arts.

Her pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there. Tina went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. With more than 20 years of professional experience, a passion for music, and a love of travel, she now feels called to share her appreciation for the cultural diversity she has encountered—both at home and abroad—through the work of her foundation.

As an educator, Crystal focuses on service learning and its impact on developing servant leadership among middle school students. In addition to impacting student learning processes, Crystal assists educators under her leadership by showing them how to incorporate higher-order thinking skills and real-life situations into the context of their lessons to improve student outcomes. One of the many goals of this teaching process is to empower students to develop leadership skills in their schools and communities.
Keith Johnson, MSW, CAC
The Men & Women for Human Excellence, Inc. (MWFHE) endeavor began with the vision of Co-Founders Kenny Ali and Keith Johnson. Their dreams of making a difference and reaching out to the community where they lived fostered their desire and pushed them into action. They were tired of watching their friends, neighbors, and the broader community, especially the younger generations, stand on corners and get swallowed up by drugs, violence, hunger, prostitution, and total ignorance.

In 2014, Men and Women for Human Excellence, Inc. (MWFHE) opened three programs: Drug and Alcohol Recovery, Mental Health Recovery, and the Residential Therapeutic Community. They employ 50 within their community.
Mary Sheppard, MSW
Mary is mainly concerned with the Impact of Trauma, so she is passionate about Family Systems Theory. Creating genograms contributes to exploring the quality of relationships and behavioral patterns across generations. Understanding family history and how we have been shaped can be a powerful opportunity for healing and personal growth.
